I dropped off a load in the yard and disconnected the glad hands and plug, and I know that I put them back in the stowage.
I was driving bobtail on the highway and I heard a great big boom and this is what happened:
I don't think this is my fault.
How could this happen? And how much to fix? Torn out glad hands

The gear that suspends the air lines/electrical, often from a crossbar on the back of the sleeper, may have broken and that allowed one or more of the lines to fall onto the road or get tangled around the drive shaft. I've had the little spring clip that connects to the spring break a couple of times over the years. That's my guess.

If they got wrapped around the driveshaft, there should be visible evidence of where they whipped the piss out of the frame rails. Most likely got under a drive tire and flew out the back like a snake that hit a live wire….
Flat Earth Trucker, W923, AModelCat and 2 others Thank this. -
I wrapped some around the driveshaft on a similar Shaker. The pogo stick was broke. Everybody else drives it like this so it will be OK right? WRONG! It took awhile to get all that junk off the yoke. It also pulled all that stuff off the cab. You are lucky there is not more damage.
Flat Earth Trucker, W923 and Last Call Thank this. -
