So I drive a Super 10 international, and at first I was a little nervous about it. But after a day of driving it, it's so nice.. You really only have to shift 5 times, and it feels like an automatic..
The only thing is downshifting, that can take some getting used to..
If I had the choice between a Super 10 and a regular 10 speed, I'd choose the super 10 every time
How come the Super 10 transmission never took off??

It never took off because students out of school can't even drive a ten speed. The ten speed was the simplest transmission that the megas started using 20 years ago. The ten speed was still too hard so they started using nine speeds since a lot of schools had nine speeds. It still took time for the students to learn so now they just use automatics. It's sad because a 13 and an 18 speed are just glorified nine speeds.

I drove a Ford Louisville with a super 10 for about 6 months. They do take a clear head to downshift, but I enjoyed it.

That transmission will make anyone look like a rookie their 1st time driving it

My only problem is when i get in a standard 10, and proceed to cuss out the tranny for trying to go into granny instead of 6th..

Had a W9 with a 12.7 60 series 500 detroit with a Super 10 in my Rooster Cruiser days. Screaming combination.
"Whats a 'rooster cruiser', Six?"
Back in the day you had 3 types of vehicles battling for highway supremacy. 1. The bullwagon 2. The rooster cruiser 3. The stagecoach.
A rooster cruiser was a beefed up, fast as sin largecar with more lights than a Christmas tree down the truck and trailer. The trailer of choice was the stainless steel 48 ft spread axle reefer. Triple digits wasnt enough. You had to be able to do 120 or better.
"Hey Six, if a truck only registered 80, how would you know how fast you could run?"
Usually, a hand in a 4 would match speed and tell you...or you got clocked by SmokeyBear. I got clocked at 104 and 115 and I still had pedal.
"Did you get a ticket?"
No tickets. Theyd ask me why and I'd tell them about the nekkid women playing in the 4s.Blue jeans, Wargames, EZ Money and 2 others Thank this. -
Speaking of stagecoaches, saw a wonderful sight. Was running west of ATL on 20 when traffic backed up.
"Westbound, you got a broke down 4 in the middle lane."
Actually, it was in the number 2 lane as that section of 20 is 4 lanes wide. Of course, you have the usual idiots on the road oblivious to everyone and everything trying to change lanes to get around the 4. Idiots!
Right before I got there, a truck came up behind the 4, another one blocked the number 3 lane and a stagecoach blocked the far right. The drivers got out and pushed the 4 to the right shoulder.
Incredible. Its the 21st century and theres still some hands out there that know what to do when a car stalls out.Blue jeans, Lepton1, Wargames and 4 others Thank this. -
I was never a fan of them.

Wonder if they can drive a 5 x 4
