My company freightliner truck has the factory fridge and a gallon of milk takes up about half the room. Why freighter puts fridge with regular door that swings open to left I don’t understand.
the door will bend down basically because it has no support. Then the door won’t stay closed going down the road. All you food will fall out on the floor and it’s cheap plastic door clip the will also wear out. Volvo truck has a metal pin I believe to keep door closed when driving and some of the better fridges have a door/tray that you pull the door open straight out.Albertaflatbed Thanks this. -
My Kenworth had a small fridge/freezer that was dorm fridge sized but the door pulls open on a slide more like a file cabinet.
I could keep a half-gallon of milk for cereal, half-gallon of OJ, cold-cuts, miracle whip, a few litter bottles of water, and maybe space for a leftover hamburger or sub sandwich.Albertaflatbed Thanks this. -
I don't know about company provided but the newer model freightliners have room for a pretty good sized fridge. The limiting factor was a 47 inch vertical clearance. We just put this one in our truck a few months back and it's serving us well:

I got a company 22 freightliner. Fridge is dorm size. I can fit 6 bottles of creamer on the side and 3-4 portion size containers of wife cooking. Think rectangular. Then some light stuff on top of it.stuff on top will freeze. Plus a small freezer on top. Maybe a container size. Then the door has 4 spots for bottles. Not a bad size. Just enough to do the job.

just enough room for some ribeye steaks and a few drinks like three cans

Usually, the truck refrigerators are small garbage that break easily and cannot freeze reliability.
I got an apilcool that can reliability freeze things to -4 degrees. This came in handy when some boxes from a Tyson chicken load were rejected due to crushing (forklift driver carelessness). I was allowed to keep the chicken by my company and kept it frozen consistently for the 3 months that it took me to eat through it.Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.
