Have a customer with a fleet of volvos 07 to 15 with d13s that wants to bump horsepower. He is going to start with a few and is willing to do exhaust manifold, turbo and other supporting mods.
Anyone know how strong these engines are and how much power they will hold? Trying to research online and not getting much, not to many people souping up their volvos lol

If you did the research and found nothing..... that's the answer. Nobody does this type of tuning in North America.
As far as the mods you plan on doing.
The full tilt manifold is Not worth it. It's the old style 3 piece manifold. They would always leak and that's why Volvo went to a one piece design. You can modify the turbo but without tuning the ecm not sure if this will do much of anything. Injectors...... again roadblock is ecm tuning.
Volvo Penta Marine have D13's pushing 600hp to 1300hp variants and are twin turbo'd. Highly unlikely they just drop into a road truck but if they did the roadblock would still be there.
Just do the factory 500hp and 1850 tq and rolli.Last edited: Apr 14, 2021

We have the tuning covered, have already set one to 600/1850 which is running fine but won't go above that due to not knowing hardpart strengths. The 600 horse is emissions intact as well
autopaint Thanks this. -
Check out the volvo PENTA.... BTW the 900hp create motor is $53,000AModelCat Thanks this. -

Maybe the d16 rad

D16 Radiator is not enough cooling capacity even for d16 usually anything in VNL will run hot and they have pressurize cooling system to keep it from overheating so this will not solve your problems.
