OK, I've looked on all the forums and threads that seem related to my question, and I don't find an answer.

I've been offered 25% of the load for transporting hot oil. I haven't had a "face to face" meeting yet, and need information before I do. Does anyone have a ball park figure as to what would be good pay?, OR

Can anyone tell me how to find out how much 100% of the load is?

I know my wording may be off, and that's because I don't know the hot oil hauling lingo.

    Help me if you can:biggrin_25514:

    Thanks

In the "Bulk" business...25% is pretty much standard for pay to a driver.

The question is...how much is 100% so I can figure what I'll make.

My response is.....Good Luck with an honest answer.

Where in Texas do you live.....there may be other options for you work wise. In the D/FW area, the Barnett Shale is booming and companies are looking for drivers for water tankers and pneumatic tankers for frac sand.

Thanks for your reply. I will know within a week whether this job is a "go," or not.

I live in the Wichita Falls area, and, while D/FW is close enough, I'd rather work here. I will look at the suggestion you've given me ... and :biggrin_25514: to you.

I get 25% for hauling what I call "liquid animal" and corn oil. I get take home pay of 400 to 700 per week using per diem to lower tax withholding. I run almost exactly half empty miles. I would love to run less empty but the business just doesn't work that way.
