How much is a typical HOS violation fine? Say I was to run out of hours and had to drive up to 30 minutes or so on personal convenance to get to a truck stop?

The one HOS I had back in the 80's in upstate NY was a cool 200. For busting the 10 hour plus the onduty time. AND a formal OOS decal on the windshield. I paid it next morning.

On a day that I didn't log one minute of on duty time.
I went around Minneapolis. Put in 57 miles total PC. Company had a fit. Told me it was a violation. Told them they shouldn't have had me sit for three days waiting to deliver. Waste my time. I waste your fuel. It ain't no violation. No on duty time that day.
Told them they were lucky I didn't put down: "Had 150 Cabelas Club Points on my credit card. Had to give the Cabelas Club Points a ride to Safe Haven at Cabelas". -
Upinsmoke Thanks this.

Just weighing my options. I guess I could call in and ask for another day to the consigne. Hate to do that. I’m sure it won’t go over well.
Upinsmoke Thanks this.
