Past few months I've been trying to track down where the hop as been coming from on my truck.. happens around 60-65mph.. tires show no wear alignment and tire guys both find no issues.. I did a lot of bobtailing yesterday and truck ran smooth with no hops.. so obviously trailers are playing a part in this.. could it be a fifth wheel issue? And would bad shocks cause this?

If you've never replaced them, I would recommend it.
Also check the torque arm bushings.strollinruss Thanks this. -
Carrier bearing?

Try rotating the tires. I figured out my truck hops due to a couple of bent rims and when they were rotated the hopping changed.Tires and rims look good standing still.

Did the tire guys check run out? when a tire goes out of round, it can be hard to see, just looking, need to run a gauge on it.

If it runs smooth bobtail and hops with any trailer, I'd check that the leveling valve is working correctly if you have air ride. Not sure what suspension you have or what the spec is for ride height but measure it bobtail and loaded. Should be the same or very close. If the truck sits noticeably lower with a loaded trailer that could possibly be the issue.

I had the same problem. it was trailer tires. but I pull the same trailer all the time.
