You're in Kentucky? Go to Paschall Truck Lines in Murray. NO contract involved training and great pay. F Western!

Depends what they pay. If you can put $1800 a week after taxes in your pocket with then then go for it.

As well as western express, talk to Melton, TMC and Maverick for comparison. LouEvil is really good spot for Conestoga work. I 65 & I 75 are feeder routes for metals

I started there back in 2010 and the reviews were bad then. I really didn't have any complaints. I worked on the flatbed side. Most of the drivers in that orientation class wanted dry van, so they had to wait on trucks. I decided to go flatbed so I wouldn't have to wait on a truck. Personally, I always thought the flatbed division got treated better than the van guys. The van drivers a lot of times got stuck running east coast and couldn't get off. They have a big time northeast presence. That's not to say they don't travel other places because they do run all 48. Most of the drivers on the west coast was running the 11 western. I'm not sure if that is still the case. On the flatbed side you went everywhere. You will learn how to secure pretty much every type of load because they will put anything on a flatbed. They had long hauls for sure. I'd run from Tennessee to Utah, or Washington state, California, and back with regularity. I never sat working there. They didn't pay the highest in terms of cpm, but they made up for it by dishing out lots of miles. It was hard to get home sometimes but overall my experience was great. If you keep your head down and do what's asked of you, you'll have success at any company you go to, and I'm probably one of the few drivers in the industry that can say thay I've done well at every company I've gone to. I had a good trainer, and he told me that trucking is all about what you put into it. You seem to have the right attitude. If you feel ok about going there, I'm only gonna support and encourage you. I, as well as all of us, will help you anyway we can. Another guy in my orientation class at Western told me to stay out of truck stops. Sure, you gotta fuel, shower, and eat but do those things and get out. Many complainers in the industry hang out at the truck stop too long and they want to talk, and complain. Sometimes I think that can sour a new drivers image of the industry. Keep your head down, focus on gaining your experience, learn as much as you can, hone your skills, and you'll be just fine there.

You've got a plan and that's goof. You'll be fine there. I forgot to add in the previous essay I wrote lol......You'll need what I like to call the "ITY formula."

    Reliabil-ITY + Availabil-ITY + Adaptabil-ITY= Longev-ITY

I understand curtain-side pays really well. Can haul flatbed freight.

A curtainside can save valuable time by providing full protection for your product without the challenges of tarping.
    `
Almost anything that ships on a flatbed can ship on a curtainside, unless it needs to be loaded from the top via a crane. Common products include building products, doors, windows, insulation, dry wall, lumber, OSB, coils, palletized merchandise and more! Our team of experts can help you determine the best option for your business, so give us a call.
