    Hey guys im using my Honda eu3000is as a APU. within the last week my generator will run good for about 6-7 hours then it starts to surge really bad like its not getting GAS.. It even backfires i've never had this problem before... Most shops have 2-3 week wait for them to fix it:/ Has anyone had this problem? Its got new Oil new spark plugs New air filter...

    Try running a few tanks of 100% gas through it,not a ethanol blend.

    Lots of Honda's around here but no eu's. 5.5's or V twins running pumps. The small ones have a filter screen in the gas tank and need to be replaced sometimes. The larger ones have a wire to a solenoid in the float bowl. Those need to be replaced some times. If out in the field they can be made to run by removing the rubber seat. They also have an inline filter. We have a 250 gallon storage tank for non ethanol gas which solved a lot of problems. If they are enclosed or do not have an insulted gas line can vapor lock. That is just my experience and hope that may help you. Best little engines out there except for the last twin. It was made in China and started blowing the dipstick out.

    Don't run gas that has ethenol IN it. They don't like it. It will back fire and fuel knock.

    When it starts surging and backfiring unscrew the gas cap, sounds like vaporlock to me

    It doesn't have a fuel filter has a screen before entering the tank. Also has a water bowel catch i took that off and cleaned it. Almost all truck stop gas as ethenol in it anymore:p This problem DID start after i put some gas from Ohio in it lol

    I just got it started again lets see how long i can get it to run this time. Seems to run about 8 hours without an issue then it will surg like shes running out of gas:p If i can catch it in time ill try to take the cap off:D
