My only concern would be with how difficult will the tarps be to put away? I wouldn't want to be lying in mud or snow to stow them or get them out.

Possibly, but since I had 2 in straps, it was easy to just switch out and leave. lol I have used 1 in straps for different things since and not had any hassle, actually I guess they are more like 1 1/2, it seems like any 1 in I have bought in a long time was pure junk.
cke and FerrissWheel Thank this. -
Ive got a 2" strap for my dunnage with a full wrap around, to a ratchet binder welded to a heavy cross brace above the pile. Thanks for the heads up on the bungee. Ive got some web loop slings with adjustment buckles incase some hardboiled bear gives me grief. But i like how fast and easy the bungee is and will leave it until then. Its a brand new bungee and the jug is secure. My cooler has been wonderful. Its jammed in tight against the tank, that bungee only holds the lid on.
Putting the tarps away isnt too bad, im on 11.r24.5 so i can stand up underneath only bent at the waist. I mean i wish the tarps jumped up in the rack on their own, dont get me wrong, its never fun.
I had to show up for a load with a fresh tare weight today.
10,880 steer
13,740 drives
7,220 spread
31,840 tare.
Thats with 4s, 8s, pipe stakes, 7 pair of coil racks, 13 sticks of dunnage, brick screens, i think 11 chains and 12 binders im up to now.. Edge protection, tools, ladder, air hose, full cooler, clothes, 7g water, full tanks, tons of straps and 4" hand ratchets plus drop in winches. And a set of car ramps for a backhaul im doing. Theres really not much gear left that i could put on this rig. 550 cat and a 13spd with standup bunk and pretty big tanks. Im impressed.cke, FerrissWheel and kylefitzy Thank this. -
I like that binder rack idea. Thats nifty.

My log truck is way longer than most at 305 in wheelbase, and I even have a 48 in sleeper on it. I had one loader hand swing a log around that had not been topped for some reason and knocked the horn off the cab. I saw it coming out of the corner of my eye and tried to crawl through the floor board. lol
All it touched was the horn though.cke, FerrissWheel, AModelCat and 1 other person Thank this. -

Starmac:
I tell anyone with any type of crane, not to hoist anything over the cab of my truck.
I don’t care if I don’t own the truck, I love the truck I drive and I want to keep driving it. (The 2005 Freightliner in my profile picture)
The damage in the photos I posted, the log loader was actually above the trailer at the front bunk section.
The freezing weather made the logs slippery and one slid out of the grapple which crushed the tank.cke and FerrissWheel Thank this.
