    Howdy folks. I'm not sure if this is in the right place to post this, but here goes;

    My company uses 26 foot "box" trucks ( 2 axels ) to make deliveries all over VA and NC. We've generally had Freightliner trucks, but we bought a brand new 2014 Hino. It's been getting really cold so we've had to plug in the trucks using a standard extension cord, I believe to keep the battery from freezing (maybe, I'm not sure). For the Freightliner trucks, the plug in is under the step on the driver side, near the gas tank. The plug in for the Hino, however, is no where to be found, unless it's in a strange spot. I've tried looking on the internet but can't find anything. Does anyone know where it might be on this truck?

    Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Those plugs are for the block heater, to keep the oil from getting excessively thick.
    If your Hino has one, it should be in the same spot as the Freightliners... under the driver side door. It's possible your truck doesn't have a block heater, in which case, I know installing one is pretty easy on a Cummins, and I'd imagine more the same on the Hino, but I don't know that platform.
    Is there an operator's manual with the truck?
    I did a quick image search on Google, and the results give the impression that these are aftermarket add-ons for the Hino, BUT, I would call a dealer just to make sure... not sure who distributes/markets them in VA and NC, but I know MHC Kenworth does it here.
    Also, as an aside, remember to unplug those before you start the truck.

    Why do you say to unplug it before you start the truck?
    Also I believe it warms your coolant in the water jacket. Oil in the pan will still be cold

    Some trucks have the heater as a chunk of electrical cord under the hood on the passengers side of the nose.

    So you don't forget about it and end up ripping the #### thing out.

    A single element setup could be either/or. Most have two heating elements, with one going into the side of the block, and one going into the bottom of the oilpan.
