Hino 268 Exhaust brake not working

    Got a buddy who recently had his DEF system removed. 2012 Hino 268 straight truck. Maybe its a coincidence but since the deletion his exhaust brake hasn't been working. Is the DEF system in any way connected to the exhaust brake? Could it be a blown fuse issue?

    If I'm right, the exhaust brake is mounted right behind the turbo. When you turn the key on it should self test by engaging and disengaging, at least the Paccar I drove did. Could be an actuator because a delete shouldn't affect it
