Thanks for the website. I already know about it. I have already filled out an application. They want me to start with them. Before I make a final decision I'm trying to do some research into this company. I was trying to find if anyone here actually works for or has worked for this company. I can't find any info from others on this company.

I've never worked for Hiner, but a friend of mine did. He lasted three weeks before he finally just gave up. They told him that he would run from home (southeast Indiana) to the southeast and Texas. Wrong!!! for three weeks straight he ran from Indiana to the northeast(Mass,Ct,And yes NYC). And he wasn't a newbie to the industry. He went there with 10 + years exp. He found out from other drivers at Hiner that unless you got several years of seniority with Hiner that all you will see is the Northeast. That is really the only thing he had said about them negative or positive. So I guess if you don't mind the northeast then they may be ok for you.

I don't know if this info may be useful for you, but since nobody else has replied in any way, thought I might offer it.

    good luck

I would guess that the weekends at home would be accurate. He is the kinda guy who demands to be home weekends. If he wasn't home he would have been screaming and he wasn't screaming so.......

The only thing i can tell you is that almost all their trucks are automatics now. they have no female trainers if thats what your looking for.
if you already have your cdl with no experience, they still want you to sign a contract ($4000) stating you will work their a year. by the way they do pro-rate the $4000 (i.e. work there six months only owe $2000)
also they send you for a physical at their expense but, yet have you sign a release stating if you dont work for them for at least 90 days you will reimburse them $100 for it. Another point is they do not offer tuition reimbursment.hope this helps anyone

Did you ever find anymore info on Hiner? I, too, am looking into Hiner. Free training and get paid while you train, plus home every weekend sounds good to me.

I just wondered if you ever found out about their equipment, typical runs, etc?

    Thanks!

At Hiner they are a pretty decent company to work for all in all. all their equipment is '04 or newer mostly international. i would say the avg run is btwn 550-650. They haul general freight. They will not haul any class 1 haz mat. As far as their pay depends on exp. up to 6mths you get .30 and no raises for the first yr. after 1st yr they do give raises of 1/2 cent every 6 mths. Most of there runs are east of I35. and about 60% of those are east of Ohio. As for their training it isnt "free" i fyou have your cdl fresh out of school you still sign a contract for $4000 for a yr to work for them.

Hiners is a good company. Yes they are a big east coast carrier. If you don't like to go east I would suggest not going to them. Every once in awhile you may get to go south or west. Alot of the experinced seniors get those loads. But about home time. The DM's do what they can to get their drivers home every weekend. If you really have to be home every weekend you might reconsider. But let me tell you this before you think negative, if your out and your DM cant get you home by Friday, it may be saturday morning or late evening, you will be entitled to have your time at home and may not go out until late monday or early Tuesday. But that is not always the case. Sometimes drivers are out over the weekend because they weren't able to get a load for you. But, if that is the case they will make it up to you when you get back. I am thinking about going to them, they have great trainers and nice trucks. I am willing to run, the more the better and more money in my pocket. But, i f your one of those people that is going to ##### about getting home think twice. And that is going to be anywhere you go. It's not the DM that isn't getting you home, it's the brokers not wanting to pay the price for the loads they want hauled TRUST ME on that one. I hope this was helpfull to you. Good luck in whatever you decide and happy trucking...................
