Stinger refers to the fifth wheel being behind the drives 6 inches or so off the ground as opposed to a high mount car hauler with a fifth wheel above the drives like other trucks. High rail refers to a trailer with the tall vertical posts that hold the top decks which are usually independent of each other. Most" real " car haulers can be found using these. Low rail refers to a quickloader design where it basically resembles a ramp. Not as versatile as a high rail. It is most often used by car haulers with lower I.Q. I must confess that in my moments of youth and stupidity, I actually bought a low rail. Couldn't get rid of it fast enough.

Carhaulers choose high rail or ez loaders for different reasons not because of I.Q. High rails are can be 1000 lbs heavier. If you haul pick up trucks and large vehicles then you might want an ez loader. High rails are definitely more versatile.

I appreciate Tropsnart's sense of humor and I have to agree fully with him. I am not quite as dumb as I was yesterday and part of my progress is due to my Highrail!

IMG_3735.JPG IMG_3736.PNG IMG_3737.PNG The top picture is one that Kansas Posted of a High Mount with a nice load. The middle is a quick loader and was also versatile for big units and I really liked loading it. The bottom is a high rail. I like it now, but it took some time to learn it.

Thank you for the replies. Another question, how long would you guys work for an auto transport outfit before running your own truck and authority ? Just trying to do all my homework because this is something I would like to get into on my own eventually..
