High pressure line from my AC to condenser (rubber portion) burst one day on my ProStar with Maxxforce 13 and I replaced it.. I charged it up and ran the truck for a few minutes at idle.. I touched the metal part of the high line with my hand and it was hot AF! It burned the crap out of my hand.. The Freon lasted almost a week cause now the AC compressor is leaking from the rear seal! Is it normal for that line to be so hot it’ll burn your hand?

You may have overcharged it... U can get it charged up properly for like 60 bucks and they will vacuum out all the old freon..

Yes, getting hot is normal, any time you compress it creates heat. Think air compressor or diesel pistons.

Hmm, yes to some extent. All forms of compression produce heat, how hot it gets depends.

To answer your other part of the question. Your high cut off switch might be bad, allowing over pressurizing of the system. Without gauges and knowing how to interpret the readings its hard to give you the correct answer.

I remember at idle the pressure was a little higher and dropped a little when I rev it..
It felt like I touched an iron.. It even left a little burn mark on my hand.. But I was just idling tho.. Idk if that had anything to do with it..

You are going to need to take the truck in for service.
The system is not functioning properly. What is causing the problem is difficult to answer without performing tests.

Now that the system has been opened, the dryer will most likely need to be replaced or one installed.

Over pressure on the high side is usually related to a few things. High pressure sensor/ switch, Compressor valve head, or restricted line. Possible expansion valve plugging, causing restriction.

The metal line will burn your hand near the compressor, the rubber part will be hot. The inlet or suction should be icy cold though.

Hopefully I can just flush the system and be ok when I install the new ac compressor..

2014 International ProStar with the N14 engine has no AC. Replaced my AC compressor replaced high pressure switch, still no AC. Can “trick” the AC compressor into working by running a hot wire and a ground to it and it comes on and gives me cold air so I know the compressor is good. I replaced the high pressure switch because I thought maybe it was preventing the engine fan from coming on but that didn’t resolve the issue. Thoughts?
