I got a 1 year medical card and think I should have been given a 2 year card. My BP was 130/70 and I use a low dose blood pressure medicine. The DR said I can't get a 2 year because of my medicine. Anyone else have issues? What has your Doctors said?![]()

I've been on just 5 mg of Lisinopril for years and it keeps me close to 120/80. I can also only get a 1 yr card. I think it's pretty much Black and White. Any meds to regulate=1yr card.
Tonythetruckerdude and rocknroll81 Thank this. -
My Doc said the same thing. You take the medicine, you get a one year certificate.

don't tell them you're on meds next time. easy. If you were given a two year card and then found out you then had to take meds would you tell anyone? prob. not. same difference.

The new NC regulation that I have to update my medical card with the state every year means that my 1 year medical is only good for 11 months - since I have to send the new one in 30 days in advance.

I guess the lying is up to you. However the driver who hit and killed the state patrolman in Indiana a few weeks back did lie about medication he was on. I believe he was on medication for diabetes. The driver says he blacked out and does not remember what happened. This guy is definately going to do prison time and if he has ten cents to his name, you can bet the patrolman's widow is going to get that.
Tonythetruckerdude, Big Don, Reroll and 2 others Thank this. -
Lie at your own risk.
I know it's a pain to get the card updated every year, but it's for the safety of everyone concerned.Pmracing Thanks this.
