Here's why Walmart hates truck parking...

i work mostly out of straight trucks out on the road for now delivering stuff to rich people, ill take a walmart parking lot anynight. i was up in maryland at one that was just nasty. i dont know what the deal with that place was but trash was everywhere and the bathroom had so much urine on the floors it would burn your eyes walkin in.

 

All Wal-Marts are rapidly becoming no other truck but thier truck parking. They are spending several million dollars putting islands and trees in all there parking lots. And hiring security to kick us out. They are sick of piss bombs and all sorts of garbage. Our money is not wanted or needed by them because we are all slobs. I remember Kmart, Woolworths, that once ruled the retail world too back in those days some drivers slept outside these stores in the grass or wherever. People were scared of those stinky truck drivers hanging around waiting for various reasons. Hogging the pay phones. So they banned them too. Spent lots of their companies money to deter truck drivers. It's kind of like your heart banning red blood cells. No matter how big you are you'll die. Now if Wal-Mart had a heart they could spend just a couple of thousand per store. Paint truck parking lines in the usually half empty lots supply a dumpster, have the security guard clean up occasionally, because of that one driver in a 100 that is a thoughtless slob. They could practice a thankful attitude towards truck drivers, who bring the lifeblood of thier merchandise, all the would have to do then is set up some fuel islands and they would have a happy time raking in several more millions from the revenues. Not gonna happen huh? Wal-Mart corporate gets more thrills from being pricks. I thought they liked money more.

 

A lot of Walmarts don't own the land they are built on so it isn't up to them if they put truck parking in. The parking lots of Walmarts aren't built for trucks to go in and out of, that is why the curbing and landscaping take such a beating. I bet it would cost more than a "Couple thousand" per store to make the parking lot accessible to trucks, to provide a dumpster because you know all kinds of junk is going to be dumped into an open dumpster in a Walmart parking lot, and to provide a security/ clean up person.

 

There is tons of parking close by IE next to coremark,down the street from Mclane or if you want to be closer to downtown between Peoria and Havana I guess when you live here you can see all the good juicy spots like off central park area where you can park catch a movie,Bass pro shop, resturants,bars,comedy club

 

And some local ordinances prohibit truck parking. Sometimes it's not their call.
That said, Walmart is my 'last resort' parking. We don't belong there.

 

I parked bobtail in a Target lot last night. Another chain that's turning us away. I put a sign in the window that read I will leave by 7 AM. I promise there will be no bottles, trash or waste of any kind thrown out when I go.

 

Better than when the opposite problem happens. (Oh no! Turn the hose off!)
