Stay away from this company if you can . Everything previously said by others is true . I’m just adding my 2 cents worth . I worked for Hendrickson for approximately 6 months . The pay wasn’t what they promised and they make the driver pay for 95% of such things as load locks , tie down straps and sometimes lumper fees . I submitted 24 weight tickets and got paid for 2 . I bought 22 load locks and tie down straps and was never repaid . I submitted 4 receipts for tolls and was never paid back . I submitted the receipts 3 times but was never repaid . Once you are employed for 3 months you can submit your benefits package "when?" you get home . I finally submitted mine and it got "lost" and I had to fill out and resubmit the entire package . Getting home the first 3 months wasn’t to bad for me but once the 90 days hit Hendrickson all of a sudden had all kinds of excuses for not getting me home . I got 4 days off each month (the first 3 months) which changed after 90 days . Wasn’t even close to getting home on time and the best they said they could do was 1 to 2 days off for every 6 weeks out . While working for Hendrickson they switched fueling from Pilot truckstops over too Loves truckstops . The rumor was that Hendrickson ran up the fuel bill and couldn’t pay it off so Pilot cut them off . You cant fuel up before 10:30 A.M. because Loves would have to be paid money in the morning to reopen the account for Hendrickson . Hendrickson also got rid of some of the driver managers (to cut costs) whats left are called dispatchers . Their leasing program is no more , allegedly over a few lost lawsuits won by lease owners . Hendrickson also does local work . I talked with a Hendrickson driver who was local only and he said he had over 40 hours of layover time coming but was only paid for 5 hours . I’ve talked to many drivers that were so upset that they said they were filing charges with the Labor Board and in small claims court just to get back the money owed to them . Hendrickson is bad the first 3 months and then it goes downhill from there . Rumor has it that Hendrickson is up for sale . The office personnel now have to wear ties and dress more appropriately . I’m glad I got out before winter . I can just imagine how Hendrickson would treat you in the winter when it was unsafe to drive . Once you’ve been there for 90 days they start yelling at you for everything . Its pretty bad . The head of the maintenance dept. recently quit also . I talked to 2 mechanics about Hendrickson and who were looking for other work . For that matter I’ve heard from 2 driver managers that they too are looking for other work its that bad there . Also if you do decide to work for Hendrickson , look through their "drivers handbook" when you are in orientation . Many key parts of the "drivers handbook" are missing . Key parts such as payroll , time off and other things Hendrickson doesn’t want you knowing about . I looked in other "Drivers handbooks" and these same key parts were missing in them also so it wasn’t just an "accident" they’re missing . Some of what I’ve said here is what others have told me and they are just rumors . I suspect however that they are for the most part true based on my experience with Hendrickson . In my time with Hendrickson I never heard any Hendrickson driver say anything good about the company at all . Hendrickson needs to be bought out and restructured . However I think Ward owes more money than than the company is worth so I don’t think anyone will buy it . My final 2 week paycheck Hendrickson deducted just about all of my money for expenses . I.E. cleaning the truck ect . When I left I cleaned everything out of the truck , trash and all . Yet was billed $250 dollars for cleaning . Hendrickson is truly one company that doesn’t care about you AT ALL ! From the rumors that Ive heard Hendrickson is in financial difficulty .

Talked to one of their drivers down in Roseburg. I guess she runs loads down to Yreka and swaps out to another driver with a NW load. She had just pu a load in N. bend OR with 1 hr left to drive and drove it up to the loves to get fuel. She was pretty upset because they wanted her to continue on down to Yreka to swap the load when she was already past her 11.

She looked like she needed a break but headed south. It's sad to see the kinds of risks people will except with a good company. But Hendrickson?

It's sad to see...period. No one should let these "cubicle con artists" run any driver past the legal limit. Is Hendrickson even aware of CSA? Don't they realize that their CSA score is just as affected as the drivers themselves?

EDIT: I guess CSA don't mean that much to them. They're over the threshold in Unsafe Driving and Driver Fitness. I saw a lot of "No CDL" and DQ'd drivers.

"I submitted 24 weight tickets and got paid for 2 . I bought 22 load locks and tie down straps and was never repaid"

I'm not saying "I told you so" or anything, just learn from experiences.... I ran into this with a company on e-straps. I bought four, submitted for reimbursement, hadn't gotten it in 3 weeks, and then had to send 2 away with a sealed trailer...

My DM asked me to buy two more and he'd get me reimbursed. I said "no". I hadn't been reimbursed for the first set of 4... so if he wants me to buy anything, he can approve an EFS check first - period.

He had to do it, and it was a hassle for him - I guess he was late to his golf tee time or whatever, and I never fronted money again. I got the terminal manager involved and was reimbursed on the next check.

I found that not being reimbursed was caused by the DM simply not approving the request and forwarding it to payroll - nothing more.

Anyhoo, in the future, when asked to buy something, say sure, I'll be glad to pick those up, I'll need an EFS/COM check for $76.22 (whatever the total is, with tax).

I toatly agree with what others have said and I myself have a fleet load of storys about this company starting with that fat pig in payroll ok how easy is it to put information in the computer rite ok here it is I told her where to send my check over 40 times and she still screwed it up! But wheres the direct deposit ??? everyone else has it why not hendrickson . Simple really Ward steels money from the company and has over drawn company funds countless times and buys his toys such as ::::: a lear jet.Even his Dad Ward Sr didnt want him running the company but his mommy made sure that he would even though daddy ward was kicked out by mommy and they are not wanted by any local banks cause they stold money from them thats why they half to use a bank in Utah. Sorry even though orentation is considered on duty not driving you still dont get paid for it well heres the deal cause Hendrickson is above the law so they can get away with it although any time on company time is consideredc work and need to be paid for. Ok lets see what dispatch is like o boy heres Sue ya shes a winner !!! shes a class 1 lier for sure as well as disrespectful to the drivers probaly the custumers to anyways if they give you halfway decent load or just before or as you are getting loaded or rite after then they will take it away from you and give them to someone else reminds me the time i picked up a Fed Ex load from mira loma going nto Fife Wash it was funny Sue called me over 20 times telling me theres a truck waiting for me in Milwauke Oregon waiting to take my load the rest of the way well if the load is time sesitive why stop and add another hour to the delivery time when all i half to do is stay on I-5 well needless to say i finally just shut my phone off and kept on trucking well i made it and never stopped so they must be on crack cause it sounds like paranoia to me or maybe they dont think you can do your job pretty sad huh To them your nothing they think your just some under educated person with no though about life so thats why you became a truck driver to begin with.

Now how about their equipment o yeehaw bad tires leaking fluids and lots more they want you to buy it off them for what ....three times the value lets look at 147 black freightliner over a million miles bushings are gone cab mounts are shot no sliding fifth wheel tortion bushings Dick wanted to sell it to me for 24000 and Arrow Truck will sell me one for 9000 thats 15000 diffrence or how about there frieghtliners a lot of them have been in accidents and other things to bad you couldnt get a car fax on their trucks their kenworths are shot just like the Volvos.I would really inspect any thing before I buy imagine what a CHP would do if you dont see it

Ok how about the shop o boy what the hell is a safty lane anyways isnt that when you come in to port to get a quick what ever needs done came in one nite door shut there in there but wouldnt open the door had a flat and my driveshaft was falling out so instead of fixing this stuff it was just easier to break down up in oregon and be down for 4 days and spend my whole check for motel and repairs o ya i was told that the bill was gonna be divided in to 6 payments well jumbo took my whole check

Yup when a new person takes over a truck that driver will pay the exact same thing that the other drivers who had that truck did so ol Ward is making a mint of ya

And now how about the load planning for trucks heres the deal if you team both drivers get the same rutine as a single driver the truck gets no miles of coarse it cant since they not only make you sit for hours and days but they will lie to you about things that are going on as well as the major amount of freight they have and thats abunch of lies 99% of their loads are logistic loads and there a low paying loads thats why you get loads like that and thats why no one gets any miles and i know for a fact that Campbell soup is getting ready to drop Hendrickson cause their sick and tired of their crap and their load planners are a bunch of idiots I mean look at Carman she couldnt coordinate a load even if her life depended on it and of course not counting that Steve guy who ever he is Now heres "ol Ward" hes the biggest wussy on the west coast he wont talk to you meet you or even relate in any way shape of form ya....thats really professional for a business owner and did anyone know he is so scared he has body guards with him most of the time in fact he has his little suck butt Dicky boy to all his dirty work for him so he doesnt half to come out of his office Im glad I dont half to work like that or under someone like that well ya know Im a 30 yr veteran of trucking and transportation and Im forced to say this is got to be the worst company I have ever seen or worked for and It would also seem to me that they actually enjoy the high turnover as they have the average time spand there is around 2-3 months So moral of the story is dont waste your time with them cause it wont do you or your family any justice

So I hope this small note about Hendrickson Trucking will be helpful to anybody to anyone thinking of going to work there and to those people sueing them good luck im courious to know the outcome

Just a quick update on this crappy company. In the past couple of days, a fleet message was sent saying that they were going to deduct 2c per mile from the drivers pay if their idle time was too high, and that they should "cuddle a teddy to stay warm." Well, it's fricking cold on the west coast this year, and how are they going to charge it? When you idle you aren't moving so are they going to deduct from all miles for the pay period? If so they will be talking to my attorney! Now today, they sent a fleet message saying that they are going to deduct 5c per mile if the driver is late for any pickup or delivery appointment. Problem is, most of the time they schedule the loads so the drivers can't make their deliveries on time! Apparently this is how they plan on cutting the driver's pay since the dispatchers control the scheduling and they are already one of the lowest paying transportation companies around!

Gotta love these moron BFI companies and the idiots who run them and the drivers! I skipped through this thread and I've come to a conclusion..

QYIT this POS company! Go home all at the same time and park the trucks where they will get towed. Forfit the pay check as it seems they are wanting to fine the driver for the dispatchers morinic dispatching.

BUT how about you put the blame on the dispatcher.

You use qualcomm or people net correct?

Then this is easy! You know what your HOS are when you get the load correct? Before you acknowledge receiving the load info pull out ht elog book and figure out what your hours are then figure out from that dispatch you got if your hours and the way the truck is set up and the roads you will be running on and do a log to schedule yourself. When you have crunched those numbers send it in clear English on that communications system that the load is already late due to their schedule and the time they got it to you. Explain to the desk jockey that they were late and here is what time you can LEGALLY get it to the receiver. Be sure that you are laying the blame on them and if they deduct any money from your pay check you will sell a tire or something someone needsto cover their mistake. Yeah I know that theift but whatthose morons don't know it's a threat. BUT if you do not want to go that route with the tire sales you can ask to go home and unload the truck and send them their 2 week notice and then tell them that because they still took money out of your paycheck because they are morons and idiots that if you do not get a comm check to cover those fines the truck will be at Joe Blows wrecker hold lot and they charge how many dollars per day and that you are parked at their drive way. Oh the comm check better be good because you will call com data to verify the number they sent you.

Stop being victims of idiots and morons who think they are some kind of god over the only people to actually bring the money into the company. No truck loaded and driven, then how does the company make money? Beam it up Scotty? Yeah not this century! And Yes it is the drivers who bring in the money. The driver can do the same job as the load manager, brokers, dispatchers just by looking at a load board or a broker on his list in his little black book of brokers!

Again stop being bent over the tank because of moron college kids?
