Hello everyone my name is Rocko. I purchased a 2015 Volvo VNL 670 over a year n half ago currently sitting at 578k I have done some minor upgrades nothing over the top. I had a few mechanical replacement but if you guys want to find out more about my breakdowns or just repairs just ask!!(didn’t have too many just a few) This post I’m just trying to get more info on better ride quality. I have upgraded all my shocks to start this better, smoother ride quality modification, I’ve gone with the Fox shocks 2.5 mono tube premium line shocks all the way round the truck(yeah I know they’re pricey but eehhhh what the heck) I have noticed the difference as far a stability but smooth ride quality not so much on the bobtailing side only when loaded with at least a trailer the ride smooths out a bit but with a trailer and a load in it then is when the magic of the shocks works but I’m trying to get it to where it’s smooth loaded and in bobtailing because i bobtail quite often. I’m thinking of replacing all my air bags on the truck and for cab I’m going replace shocks and air bags. Any suggestions from my fellow Volvo operators out there?? #volvogang

A common overlooked part needing replacement on a Volvo is the front cab bushings.

Did you ever end up replacing the front cab bushings or figure out the issue with the ride quality? I have similar problem with a 2012 VNM630 with newer shocks and front springs but still rides super rough.

Changing air bags will make zero difference in ride quality. Its just a bag of air. Putting a new rubber bag of air in place of a used rubber bag of air won't change anything.

Check the leveling valves as well. There's one on the rear frame, and one directly under the back of the sleeper for the cab, right in the middle. A lot of times it becomes disconnected because the little ball it clicks into wears out and the arm falls out. That will definitely change your ride as the cab isn't floating on air.
