I'm 23 years old with an AZ license i got my license when i was 18 ive driven in yellowknife, plowed highways, dump truck work and pulled 53 foot walking floors, i have lots of good experience and am a great driver but one problem is I got a care and control impaired in 2009 which leaves my abstract screwed, never lost a point or had an accident, clean cvor but that stupid mistake has left me running crappy dump trucks that will ruin my cvor if i get pulled over, anyone have suggestions for a company that considers drivers like me? or anyone thats gone through something similar? thanks

Where do you want to run? What do you want to run? Does it matter?

You might want to look at the Loblaws trucks that run out of Cambridge. It is only about 30-40 km from you and they have daily runs from there to grocery stores all over the place. Would keep you from driving in that GTA traffic too. Home daily. Daycabs only. I believe most of them are Mack and Volvo daycabs. Not sure if Challenger has their hands in that operation or if Loblaws owns those trucks themselves. Might be good because insurance will look at it and say you are staying within x radius, not going to USA (where people LOVE to sue, as we all know), and you have experience. I would start there. Trucks aren't the hottest things going down the road but it would be a steady job and home daily. Pay is probably good too.

Insurance is the only hurdle, really. Companies should be able to tell you right off the bat if they can even look at you. This might limit you to some of the larger companies because they may be self insured, I'm not sure. I would highly recommend avoiding the "new canadian" run companies though. But, you gotta do what you gotta do. Maybe look at Bison, their drivers always seen reasonably happy. ERB is another one highly recommended. K-DAC is outside Kitchener, they do cross Canada runs mostly team I think but they have happy drivers there too. I would put ERB at the top of the list.

thanks for the info i know those are all good jobs just 90% of the jobs i look at say clean cvor and abstract no one budges on the bad abstract I've been applying to anything i see on kijiji because they seem too be the only places that might look around it the bigger companies dont want the risk

Here's another thing you could do:
Maybe try calling the insurance companies themselves and ask them if they can do anything for you. They should be able to tell you how long that charge will stay on your record and effect the rate. Try Dalton-Timmins or Markel. They might tell you it comes off in 3 years, so you would be good then. These companies may just hear those words and just want to look no further into it. If I had more than 1 truck and needed a good driver for one that is sitting I would definitely call my insurance to see if it could work.

Dalton-Timmis is an insurance broker>NOT an insurance company www.daltontimmis.com

Markel is no longer>It's called Northbridge Financial and YES they are an insurance company. www.nbfc.com

Insurance companies look @ a drivers 10 year history.
