What time are you going to go into to JFK? Because the best(cheapest)is to get off NJTpke@exit 10(rt 440 south)cross over the Outerbridge Crossing--follow I-278 and follow I-278 over verazano bridge(no toll inbound) to I-495 East(Long Island Expressway)to I-678(Van Wyk expressway)follow signs to JFK--just before I-678 ends into Passenger terminals there is an exit for Conduit Avenue(used to say all trucks--but don't count on it)follow the service road and watch signs for Conduit Ave East--first light off Conduit is 150th St--if you take a right there--it takes you into the air freight areas of JFK--but I do not know where you are delivering--Now if you are going in--the wee hours--I can take you from the Verrazano thru Brooklyn and save about 10 miles and 30 minutes or so--but it is an adventure--
On another note--IMHO--it is INSANE to come out of the bottom all the way up i-95 the tolls will eat you alive--if you go around the westside of DC(495)follow up to Harrisburg PA(495-270-US15)then on to 81 north and 78 east--it's only about 63 miles further and there are no tolls at ALL!
    Just my $.02

Thank you so much .I don't have the address to the customer yet I have a 12pm appointment thrusday . They told me its right next JFK . They told me Jamaica. I don't know if that's the customers name . I am unloading thurday 12pm then I have to wait for the return load at the same place Saturday morning back to Miami. I am sure I am gonna have to come back out the jersey then come back in saturday for my return load. What would be the best place to wait . Again thanks for the info . I used to run up hunts point but never ventured off to JFK. I don't mind a challenge . I just dont want to get stuck somewhere with a low bridge or what not. Is your route thru Brooklyn 278 to atalantic ave and catch conduit from there?

jamaica is actually the area JFK is in--and there is a lot of industry etc..in area--Unfortunately since 9/11 the good staging area at JFK freight zone has been closed or you could have hung out there--your best bet is probably go out to Lombardi Plaza at top of NJTpke--back over GWB and south on Pike--just a mile or so--before the Pike toll--as for running Atlantic all the way you can but not what I was thinking--and is why I asked you WHEN you are going in--the 2dexit after the Verrazano is Ft Hamilton Pkwy(Not that kind of PKWY it is a city street)it is marked no trucks--but there are 2 big produce places about 4 blocks off the exit that receive all night--so the cops don't bother trucks getting of there between midnight and about 4AM--Ft hamilton turns into Caton Av--(just a name change)and then Caton becomes Linden Blvd--which in turns dead ends into Conduit about a mile west of JFK--there is a go around of Ft hamilton Pkwy alot of drivers use--but like I said early AM no reason to--sucks you have to go in and out--that gets kind of pricey--but whatever you do don't go back out over the Verrazano since they charge you the full toll leaving(since there is none coming in) so you just follow 678 back to 95 and over GW--no toll on GWB outbound but you will have to pay one on the Whitestone Bridge-(and since you will be leaving in the afternoon--I could get you out for free but it is a ballabuster in the middle of the day especially if you aren't familiar)-and then unfortuntely since you are in N jersey--getting back in you will have to pay both the GWB inbound and the Whitestone back--welcome to NYC--
    BTW tolls(cash less w/ezpass)
    GWB&Outerbridge--Inbound only=$40.00
    Whitestone Bridge(pay both ways)$35.00
Verrazano(outbound only--y you do not go out that way)$70.00
Of course the GWB and Outerbridge can be beat--BUT--that'll open a can
    of worms--LOL
    Good Luck!

Couldn't you just continue up 95 to 695 around Baltimore,83 North to 81,no tolls either ,and shorter, instead of 270 west 15 North 81?

You can do that but it's not that bad to run north on 95 if you do it carefully. 695 go around the toll in Baltimore then pretty much no choice to pay the turnpike toll in MD and DE...$48 and $9 I think they are, respectively with an EZ-Pass. Then no toll to cross the Del-mem bridge into NJ. Run 295 North all the way to US 1/9 then take that all the way up to either 287/440 or 278 in Linden.

Southbound is free if you run 1&9 to 95 south to go around Trenton, down through Center City Philadelphia and Wilmington to dodge the Del-Mem toll but I wouldn't recommend going that way during peak traffic hours for obvious reasons. Also that huge I-95 construction zone in NE Philly is pretty dangerous for big trucks with the narrow lanes and concrete barriers. It will be nice once they finish it but I'm not going that way unless it's late-late/early-early. Boss can pay the del-mem toll! :)

NJTP to I-80 WEST (yes I said West) to NJ 17 north into NY State. You'll pick up 287 east and cross the Tappan Zee Bridge (EZPass only now) and follow that all the way back to I-95 in Rye where you will head south again.

Cross into NYC (do NOT under any circumstances take anything marked "Parkway") down to the Whitestone interchange. Somewhere in that series of ramps and bridges that separate the Cross Bronx from the Bruckner is a ramp for the Whitestone Bridge (I admit, it's been a while) that will take you onto Long Island. I-678 Van Wick expressway right into the JFK area.

And, as the British say, "bob's your uncle."
