I've read all the negative reviews about HEB San Antonio on Google, but my experience was great.
Keep in mind, HEB has numerous receiving locations in the area, depending on your product.
This post is regarding the "Combo/Produce" Receiving Facility near 5103 Rittiman Rd.
If you have meat products or produce, or your bills say "5103 Rittiman Rd, San Antonio, TX", new check in gate is located at 5731 Rittiman Rd.
Early arrival parking available but unsure about "overnight" parking but I suspect you can arrive in time to do a 10 prior to an early AM appointment.
I arrived at gate at 04:40 for a 05:30 appointment with 41k and 1,600 cases of some sort of ham or bacon product (one SKU, unsure of what code was trying to describe). By the time I got backed in, and walked down 20 doors to receiving office and gave paperwork to lumper service, and walked back to the truck, I had a red light and they were in the truck. 10 minutes later, green light. 5 minutes later some dude handed me my bills. No lumper charges. Not sure if this was some sort of one-off but this was without a doubt the best grocery receiving experience I have ever had.

TravR1, bzinger, scottlav46 and 1 other person Thank this. -
i've had good or terrible experiences there. they used to be really bad all the time is what i've been told. delivered 40k ish of one sku bologna from BarH in oklahoma. in out in about an hour. but then i've spent a ton of time there as well...

used to go in there semi frequently. never had a problem. we had more issues setting up the delivery on the office side of things, than the actual delivery.
-
No overnight parking but there is plenty of street parking on the south side of Rittiman.
The produce dock is quite a bit slower than the meat dock. The beef loads I've delivered never take more than 2.5- 3 hours tops. The produce loads generally take longer due to QC.
My last check had $67 detention pay from HEB for a 7 hour banana load. I don't mind getting stuck there. -
We’ve delivered and they are usually horrible
