So yeah my body screwed me over again, but possibly gonna find out about some hidden stuff I didn't know about. In the meantime physical expires in June and I definitely don't want to go back to the industry. But waiting on disability is a joke and trucking is all I know. I mean I could most likely pass a physical but at the same time I know better not to try. Only problem is I can't do work that requires standing, and there really isn't many office jobs in my area. Make things worse I don't have a car no more.
I wish disability would get there crap together and give me my handouts already, cause even if I found something I could do they probably wouldn't hire me do to health issues even if that's discrimination.
So once my physical expires do I need to go to DMV to get a regular license or I just keep card as is
I'm thinking maybe school bus driving but that's even more risky especially dealing with kids. I don't know but I'm going insane and I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I'm in Illinois so I'm sure if I really wanted I just go find a Chicago company to work for but oh my I know that won't end well they never do

Did you notice that in every line of a possible solution in your post, you immediately shot it down with a negative outcome before you even tried.. Get out of your head. You can't hit a home run if you don't step up to the plate!

Okay, I can understand you are upset, and waiting for disability, you will. It's one of the hardest govt. programs to get into, most because of fraud. Please don't say, "trucking is all I know", a common cop out and you are selling yourself short. PLENTY of GOOD jobs out there, many pay as much as trucking and NO, or very little restrictions. If health conditions limit your job choices, it's too late to magically repair that, and better off setting your sights on things you can do. You won't get any human transport jobs either, but maintenance is huge today, if you are handy. Hang in there, trucking in the future is a losing game, and be grateful you got out now.

What puzzles me is how can anyone qualify for disability when they are able to work.

Well when I was 16 I got my left leg crushed and the kneecap was torn off due to being too young and full of ### on a kz650. Doctor told me I'd never walk without a walker, finally got tired of that and started using a cane. Then years later I could walk but with a very noticeable limp. Started trucking at 32. Did OTR for sixteen years. Came off the road to help my elderly parents live their lives out in their own home. After they were gone, I filed for disability (due to being older and leg and knee not holding up like it used to) went back to a cane, now have to use two canes to walk. And it took as a whole year to ok me for disability. Main factor being my wreck was in 1977 and I didn't have any records of the wreck. Did you know that hospitals shred or burn all of their patient records after five years? I sure didn't! So having no proof on paper, ss finally sent me to a doctor-my original doctor was retired and no way to get in touch with him to write a letter for me. So after they x-rayed my leg they did see that it was deformed for my lifetime and I finally got disability. That's how people that are able to work can end up on disability. However, they took disability payments away when I filed for and received early retirement! Disability sucks, and so does retirement. Wished I was working again!
