I need to replace a headlight for my 2020 freightliner. I took a rock and the lens broke. I have 2 choices:

    1) replace the broken one with OEM, OR.....

    2) replace both with upgraded lights(and use the OEM'S on another truck in the fleet, assuming that there's a way to just replace the lens on the damaged one, the left is damaged and the right is good to go) with the new style "blackout" lights....

My question is if anyone that has the blackout lights on their truck can post pictures of them while ON, both with and without daylight. It'd be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

I would definitely go aftermarket. Manufacturers put on the cheapest crap to make a product work. Nothing more, nothing less.

This is why I am actually considering the upgrade, but looking to see what they look like ON in real life first.

I have never been one to do things "half assed".... I've always been a "whole ###" type.... lol

The thing I've noticed with the aftermarket headlight assemblys is a lot of them are sealed so if the light goes out you gotta replace the whole thing. Which gets crazy expensive if the product is cheaply made... that's what I would make sure of in the Assembly that you buy, whether aftermarket or oem, if you can get one that you can actually replaces bulbs, that's the one I would go with

I am told that the OEM is that way.... that's why there is the dilemma. I do know that we can use the right light in another truck in our fleet, but IDK about the left one that is damaged.

Dang man that sucks, truck manufacturers squeezing every last penny out of their customers, can't even replace a bulb... I would just replace both of them and keep the good one as a spare... Never know when bambi wants to come play in traffic...aftermarket probably be cheaper...

Just make sure the replacements are those LED kind. That way you can seen by drivers on the moon.

    True story about bright lights:

Years ago, I had a Honda Goldwing and installed aftermarket lights. I parked somewhere and some ID10T chewed me a new one because my lights were "too bright"....

When he was done venting about it, I thanked him by saying that if he would put his phone down and drive like he knew what was going on around him, I wouldn't NEED them!
