Shouldnt even need to ask since I should know this but if your carrying a NON placardable amount of HAZMAT all of the standard info (UN, Class, PG etc) still needs to he on the BOLs right? Been in a back and forth with my co over this and its getting stupid. I do have a HME but with spring here and last week getting a Level 1, I gotta be on my crap. I had an older thread but don't think I mentioned that I'm always under the placard amount.

Find out for yourself. You need to get the info straight from the source not on forums. Because rules update all the time.

I would just call up dot and ask ,also have them give you the reg# so you can pass that on to your co.
All those state office numbers you can find in the front of your atlas. This is way to important to just go by whats said on here -
ADOT maintains everything you need to know is in their manual, and it does get you to pass the test. Ask a DPS, not necessarily in your truck, but I've asked them questions. JBH had a HM hotline you had to call before any HM load, just to make sure it was placarded properly. I'm certain if you have HM on your truck, it needs to be noted on the BOL, otherwise how would anyone know.
You can get the ADOT HM material in a PDF on line free, just down load it.Bwbibb Thanks this. -
Most shippers who deal in limited quantities of hazmat products. Will tell you it's under xxx amount for there product. They will still issue you paper on the limited amounts. Hazmat
Example
But do find out what you limits are on quantities. And what ever said state says. -
Look it up and get the correct information. 90% of the answers here are wrong and can get you into some stiff fines. It's best to look it up in CFR 49 Transportation Parts 100 to 177 and /or Parts 178 to 199. That is where the laws come from and anything else is copied from that. There's a whole long process the government goes through but this publication and the Hazardous Materials Regulations and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (49 CFR 105-107,109,110,130,171-180 & 390-397)
Just make sure it's a federal publication and not some hand out.peterbilt_2005 Thanks this. -
Running Hazmat to oil rigs can often leave a driver having to properly note the Hazmat on their Waybill. I've had Hazmat loads where the shipper had NO papers, picking up at some staging yard in the middle of nowhere and destined for an oil rig in the middle of impossible to find.
In those situations you had better be familiar with Hazmat requirements and list the products on your Waybill correctly. I've had shipments when the the folks arriving in the middle of the night had NO idea about proper paperwork.peterbilt_2005 Thanks this. -

Never ever trust a shipper. They know less about hazmat than a guy walking down the street. Just because you had a shipper that did it one way does not make it legal. Like I said before look it up. It may become confusing but they have phone number to call to answer your questions.
