I passed the written test, and the TSA background check for my HazMat endorsement. Filling out applications it asks for the expiration date of the cert. I CDL test the 26th of this month. How long is the endorsement good for, and does the clock start on the day TSA approves me? I'd like to show I have the HazMat on the applications!
    Thanks!

I believe the Haz- Mat endorsement is good for
5 years. Then you have to take test again AND
reapply with the TSA at same time................

Why should he know him? They've never met.

If you meant, "You should know this, Driver", then I agree with you.

(I seem to recall that the HazMat only last two years.)

My question is due to having just received my TSA approval letter. I don't have my CDL yet. If I was approved on 03/02/2014, would the expiration date be 03/01/2016? I realize the time frame, I want to be honest in my applications. If it expires on 03/02/2016, and I put down that it expires on 03/01/2016, I don't want to be fired for falsifying my application. I don't know how picky companies are about this. Please remember I'm still wet behind the ears in a new profession!

Please remember that many/most of your fellow applicants are as dumb as turnips.

The recruiters (at whatever companies you are applying to, and it should be more than one) really want warm bodies to fill the seats at orientation.

Your Hazmat approval from TSA is good for 5 years from the approval date.

Don't sweat it too much, its a technicality. They're more concerned with tickets and accident stuff, failed drug tests etc.

As said, TSA approval has a long "use by date", then the endorsement is renewed on your CDL every 5 years.

We'd appreciate you using "paint", or "box of rocks" as the standard for dumb driver applicants.

Turnips are a living organism, and therefore have feelings, unlike recruiters, despatchers or politicians.

Thanking you in advance, the PC police.

    HotH2o and seamallowance Thank this.

Your CA license, with hazmat endorsement, will expire on your birthday that is closest to 5 years from now. At least mine was, but I did get my original license on my 16th birthday...
