I got my CDL on June 30, prior to this date I had passed my Hazmat Endorsement test and Paid the fee with the TSA. I got a email on June 7 stating that,

"This notification serves as determination that you meet the eligibility requirements to hold an HME, as set forth in 49 C.F.R. section 1572.15(d)(1). TSA will notify the licensing state of this determination."

Its been over 2 months, I just did an online check of my K4 driving history with the CA dmv and it shows that I am not approved to carry hazmat materials. How long does this take? Is there something wrong? I have not gotten any mail from the CA DMV telling me I have been disqualified or approved.

Did you take just the pre test or did you do both the pre test and the actual knowledge test at the DMV? You have to do both. The pre test is fed extra funds, the DMV is state funds and licensing procedure. The notification just means your back ground passes threat level assessment and tells DMV that you have the go ahead to take the DMV test.

I didn’t take a pre test. I took the knowledge test and the eldt course. Passed both and paid the background with the tsa. When I took the knowledge test they acknowledge that I took the eldt course. I showed them my certificate. I’m thinking that’s where they screwed up now that you mention it.

States have their own issues. Since Covid everything has been pretty slow. Also, the ELDT stuff is new so I'm sure the CA DMV is taking their sweet time. Each state is different, and CA one of the most different of all 50 states. Keep that email or letter saying you passed your background check. Having that letter may help out if you lose your plastic card and need a replacement or in some other situations. I just put mine with my long form medical pages.

I believe I waited 2 months for my endorsement to be recognized in Florida.
    Covid was there reasoning.
And i put in for my TWIC card on 8-30 still waiting on that. I was thinking if I had the Hazmat the TWIC should be a breeze for them but we all know government employees work differently than ordinary people.
