Heh, no.. mine is the higher version and I have a front brush guard as well. It was funny though at tne FL dealer in Laredo, TX they have about 25 WillTrans trucks. Brand new 2019 with drop axles which I assume was to use the trucks to haul frac sand.. but they all had the low front air dam...

All the trucks were for sale, though.

I hit a large doe last summer in the center of the grill with my cascadia so hard she flew back where she came from ..very dead .
Took out the grill and a headlite and didn't look bad till I opened the hood and lots of expensive parts were smashed and bent .
Repair and tow bill was just over 11 grand .

Yes, that lower extension is part of some "super aero package," which no doubt CA is currently looking into requiring as we speak.

I've hit 4 deer with my Mack. None of them below 55 mph. None of the deer survived. Most expensive repair? $24. Total combined repair costs? Less than $60.

Usually break a plastic retainer clip or two for a headlight ($8/ea). Couple of them tweaked the bumper a bit, too ($0...just pull it off, straighten it out, and put it back on).

    Plastic doesn't belong on trucks.

I whacked a deer at 75mph with my Western Star, barely bent the bumper and bent the grill a little. Pretty impressive.

Freightliner bumpers are crap! I was in Brooklyn and a rat crossed in front of me, I honked the city horn and it stopped and said, “What am I, an acehole? You gotta folkin problem dere toughguy?” And proceeded to rip off the corner of my bumper. That’s the story I went with anyways.

It’s all a sales pitch about low “aerodynamic “ bumpers. Ask any aerospace engineer about ground effects. As long as you have tires on the road, open driveline and a squared of body your never going to be aerodynamic.
I use to drive a 96’ Pete long nose with a 500 horse Cat pulling a refer and would average 5.8 mpg.
What’s changed except plastic cheap trucks that cost a fortune to repair?
