Ok so here's my dilemma I have my CDL and want to get into trucking but I have very little to no experience so I need training and well my question is are there companies that'll take people that already have their CDL license that will put them in a training program out with a trainer?

If you already got a full blood CDL A with maybe a endorsement or two along with airbrakes etc... you have all you need.
that means you have been schooled. The REAL educating begins on your first revenue truck load dispatch when you are handed the bills and told what, where, when, how and so on. and...
Get going yer late.
There you stand your first load waiting for you somewhere in the yard if you are lucky.
Don't worry about seeking training just yet. What I think you look for first is a employer. Start making applications. Here we have our own @Chinatown who is really a guru with this. It's amazing his wealth of knowledge. I should pick his brain sometime.
Figure out where you are going with your life and then find companies that run the way you like it.
Your training with a trainer will be a hit and miss. My first trainer in bulk hauling was actually a woman, but I was given very good training in Bulk that when it came time to touch one of those trailers after 20 some years I was unloaded in 40 minutes with what i retained. But the B&B Concrete Employer in west Little rock insisted on having me in the old Paystar 9800 which lost its entire cab floor at 70 mph under me once and wheelied 10 feet slamming it's rears all over the service road when the low gear would not let go. They should have junked it a long time ago. I think they finally junked that plant. I should have left when that floor quit and left me contemplating my death pending in that nice view of the pavement, driveshaft etc. How would I like it served up? No training for that what so ever. You carefully think it through starting with what is not possible and what is possible must be done, before your time runs out. For me it started with a nice slow pull on that trolley, 4 pounds of application ever so lightly. Took a mile to stop. Other trucks blocked off traffic to give me room to let her go wherever she liked.
That is the kind of trainer you want. There are some good ones, many indifferent ones, and some bad ones plus a few who really should not be training.
Ive preached enough. Get out there, good luck.
Don't worry, there will come a day you have all the trucking you can stand and up to your eyeballs. I hope the mountain of cash you made is higher than that. You will need it.Metallica88 Thanks this. -

I would take a look at CFI. The only reason me personally would look at them is they say no running teams while training and they seem to stick to their word on that.
x1Heavy and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this. -
Where is your location? We need to know the hiring area you live in for various companies.

Anyone know how to remove their reply after they start typing, but before they hit post?
