absolute blast to tarp if they have plastic on them.
had the sack in the front left of the trailer start leaning forward once, and an older flatbedder told me that a 2" portable wrapped around 4 sacks at a time, in conjunction with the ones over top would keep that from happening. never hauled them again, so i never got to test that trick out, sounds solid in theory though.
i had the 2" portables across the upper front and rear to the rub rail -
The straps get lose as the product settles but they don't need to be very tight. Only problems I've seen with them is the end bags leaning out or the bottom walking of f the pallet. Cross strapping the ends helps.
Usually a dirty job to tarp. -
every load of them ive seen they have been cross strapped at both ends
CAXPT Thanks this. -
i believe my issue was due to getting carried away a little snugging them down.

If they have to be tarped, it helps, but definitely cross strap the ends, if they're on pallets, chain the pallets front and back...to keep the pallets from walking out from under the bags, will help too.

if there is room on the ends of the trailers could of build some type of bulkhead or something like it to keep them from walking off the trailer? or would that be too much for them?
-
I was offered a load of them and still haven't decided yet. Of course they need tarped as well. Pays descent from PA but not sure I want to deal with the headaches
skellr Thanks this. -
Idk, PA and heavy loads make my eye twitch.
