I have my own small reefer fleet and I've been thinking about reaching out to 2 music bands who have become pretty big names lately. I know the basics of how this works, but what kinda rates would a guy get on something like this? A flat day rate of say $1500-1800 while on tour kinda thing??

Daily minimum, mileage and hourly all combined to come up with a number that puts me where I need to be. I'd start with 1200/day and crunch from there myself. I believe their tour manager will be who you'll ultimately need to deal with as well.

I appreciate the insight! So $1200/day and then the mileage and hourly on top?

Flat rate for the season. I have a couple trucks running entertainment, it is a draw for me but a good money maker for the drivers. It is only flat rate. All the cities where the events are going to be and the truck goes is known 6 months to a year before and the drivers renegoiate based on that. additional stops (and there are a few) during the season is built into the flat rate.

So if a band plays Vegas on Friday night, then Phoenix on the following Friday, then El Paso the following Friday, that is alot of downtime for the truck and driver since those are mainly overnight trips but a week apart each time. Does that daily flat rate remain the same in situations like that?

I saw the Doobie Brothers had their own rig a few years ago.

I'd think that as long as you are on standby for the band then yes, they would be pay8ng the day rate

My rate might not be your rate. You'll have to sit down and figure it all out before you move forward with soliciting.

    Siinman Thanks this.
