Hi everyone,
I have been hauling all types of fuel for many years now. And have been asked to haul a load of crude oil in my 5 compartment fuel tanker. First, is this legal? Do you need any special equipment, i.e., special trailer or trailer equipment? Do you need any specific training on loading/unloading? Containment supplies, etc?
Any and all help will be most appreciated.

Dunno bout legalities but it's the wrong trailer and a gas can is not lined.......what's the offer? Well to lact or terminal to terminal ?
And yes, depending on offer ( well to lact etc ) you'll need several things not found on a gas can......

so crude oil trailers are suppose to be lined?

I have no idea what changes have to be made to the trailer, but crude oil can most definitely be hauled in a fuel tanker. I have seen several doing just that. In fact, if I were going to build a 3rd party truck, I would look into it myself. IF the conversion doesn't cost too much.... and IF it could converted back... it would be a good way to hedge your investment against a bust.
They call em Super Tankers....for a reason -
That is correct your gonna need a double lined trailer. Totally different from Alum Fuel haul trailer. To haul crude oil.
