Anybody got a link or some sort of documentation for proper chaining / strapping techinques for stacked trailers. Seems like every where i go, there's always confusion or confrontation as to the proper way to Secure these loads. I wanna print this stuff out as a justification to my actions.

Utility trailers or stacked semi trailers?
Semi trailers, cover for the length and weight, and you will satisfy DOT. I would cross chain the fronts and rears each level and throw straps across the tops as mains.
utility trailers? If they have the styrofoam blocks as dunnage, they're going to sway. Easiest way to secure them is with 2 inch straps and ratchet down the corners on each stack. Don't forget about the 3 tiers, 6 ft or taller rule. You're talking about a lot of straps. -
1 binder each tire on deck

Guess the OP isnt going to tell us what type of trailer huh?
If flats/steps, go through the stake pockets at angles, like any other load.
Certainly not brain surgery, so not sure why you would need documentation......

How exactly would u stack utility trailers? Title of thread is called Haulin Stacks... Its obvious.
What if the trailer has D Rings only? What if the dealer requires you chain only. What if the dealer requires only straps be used. What if the top trailer has a dove tail (no pockets or D rings) . The options are absolutely infinite.
ive hauled plenty of stacked trailers, and everytime i do there is always a discussion about the correct way to do so. Setting in the truck stop, strapping/chaining at the factory, unloading at the dealer. Everywhere i go, guys want to discuss proper procedures. Thats what flat bedders do, they quest to perfect their art, and this includes me. -
MichianaFlat Thanks this.

Also strap every layer. also keep your straps as close to the sturdiest parts of the trailer

Touchy...Any "additives" in your Cherio's this morning?
I always run chains through the stake pocket. Pulling forwards and backwards, just like any other load. Like I said, it isn't brain surgery unless you make it so. Guess hauling equipment all the time makes some of us more confident etc? Dunno
Last time I checked, D rings were also made for chains too... -
8 chains, 4 per side in a small zig-zag pattern.
