dhtrucker...you WANT to go to this school??? You do realize this school is the bottom feeder of all schools. You will pay your $800-1000 and get exactly what you paid for.

Awful school. Call Schneider National, Werner Enterprises, USA Truck, Watkins & Shepard and or any other companies and they will not hire you if you graduate from this school.

If you go to their reviews under City Search or google it funny to see how any good comment about that school is when people state that you get out of it what you put in...HAHA. And I quote from a review,"He guaranteed me that I could get the Class A and endorsement in a week, as long as I dedicated myself to the training methods. All other schools were stating not only would it cost more to obtain this but it would take weeks longer. " He guaranteed it! If you can get a guarantee!!! then why go else where right? This is a very fishy school

Well thanks for the advice on this Paluche! The staff was friendly however might you suggest a better method of searching for a school? I see that schneider lists preferred schools on their websites. Is that a good way to choose a school, plus not many of any of the local schools are listed in the BBB, and lastly isn't it the best way to be sure to get job placement immediately following the finishing of school as well?

Yea I see that about the quote from a former student. WOW.

Not really. The Schneider list, believe it or not, is just a list of schools that send them the most people, as I see a couple on there that shouldn't be if Schneider really knew how they trained.

Are you looking to join the bigger "mega carriers" after truck driving school or are you just looking to get your license?

Ive never driven, so my first choice should be a "mega carrier" right? If I were to get my license I would simply lining myself up to own my own company right? What other choice would I inquire on? Thanks.

    Hey dh,

All kidding aside, forget Toro and find a school with a 160-hour program, and one that is approved by the PTDI (professional truck driver institute). Most starter companies look for this. Look into Prime's school. Check out the Prime threads on here, the school has a good reputation, as well as the Crowder school in Joplin, MO. Conway Truckload hires out of this school, and works out tuition assistance, reducing your cost to about 2500 for a first-rate school. I live in NorCal, and Western Pacific Truck Schools are up this way. Not sure what is down in Long Beach area.

    Good luck to ya,

If you have a roadmaster out there try them, they finance and have relationships with big companies to get you hired before you even graduate, well pre hire anyway. if not look into like technical schools some offer cdl training and theyll have some sort of accreditation.
