Hello Truckers! I hope you all are well, and SAFE out there on the road.

Question: How do I haul for Harley Davidson as an Owner-Op? Currently at the Petro in Joplin, Missouri and seen two truck/trailers leaving as I was pulling in to get fuel. I didn’t think to ask them until they were gone! Any advice helps! Take care.

Theres a motorcycle transporter in Las Vegas that I think might have the contract, they have trailers designed just for that like a modified 2 deck enclosed car trailer with elevator rear door.

Darn sucks you couldn’t catch them, I’m sure they would have told you all about it.

I hauled Harley's back in 2013 14. They had a contract with Crane Freight. But Crane lost the bid to Ryder. I did routes out of Denver to Wyoming Utah Montana Idaho New Mexico and in Colorado. Was ok money they had something called embargo and no bikes could be delivered for a month straight just before the new models year was to be released. I then would pick up bikes at the plant in KC or York. They had a specialized trailer. It could carry 30 bikes doubled stack.

Oh, I don't know if that's the best freight for the future. Harley has fallen on tough times. Don't get me wrong, I grew up in Milwaukee, and think Harley is/was the best motorcycle made. Trouble is, everybody that wants a Harley, already has one and sales have dropped off. With funky new models planned, I truly believe, in my lifetime left( at 68 it isn't long, dearie) I will see the end of the greatest American product made right in my hometown. I think you'd be better off dragging Kroger trailers to food stores.

I Had haulbikes bring my bike across country. $600 at that time. 3 weeks to deliver.

Uship wanted $1200. No enclosed trailer. And possibly up to 3 months to deliver.

Only problem I had with haul bikes. They had no idea where my bike was at on any given day. But they delivered in 3 weeks. As promised.

The younger generation is just not interested in bikes. They like the idea of autonomous car better

Not entirely true. I think we're going to see a revival. Myself and a couple buddies just got bikes and we're in our 30s. All the guys I work with that are in their early 20s are saving up to get a bike as well.
