Haney Truck Line hiring Regional Drivers in the Pacific Northwest

Haney Truck Line has been in business for 90 years. We are hiring drivers who live in the states of Oregon, Washington, and western Idaho to drive regionally within Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Utah, B.C. and Alberta. There is also a California contingency in our company, just ask if that's what you're interested in! A typical driver is out 3-5 days a week and home on weekends. Drivers willing to work can average about 400 miles a day. If you have a TWIC card and/or the capability to cross the Canadian border that's a plus! For those who don't have them and want them, we can help once you've hired on.

A bit about Haney. We are currently headquartered in Yakima, Washington and have terminals in Portland, Oregon, Tumwater, Washington and Fresno, California. We have various drop yards and truck parking around the Northwest and California as well. Our company started business in 1924 in Forest Grove, Oregon and was purchased by Easley Hauling of Yakima in 1987. Our specialty is hauling heavier loads. Most of our trucks have a GVWR of 105,500 lbs (not the CA trucks though). We accomplish this heavier weight mostly through the use of longer length tractors with drop axles, some doubles, and extra axles and/or drop axles on the trucks and trailers. We train all new drivers on the intricacies of hauling these heavier loads, so if you don't have experience in this kind of trucking you'll be okay.

Pay and Benefits:

• Up to $0.375/mile ($0.02/mile extra if pulling doubles) based on experience.
• $12 load/unload pay with detention pay @ $10/hr after two hours.
• Hand loads paid @ $65/load & $85/unload.
• Six paid holidays per year.
• Vacation pay $500 per week; 1 week after 1 year, 2 weeks after 3 years, 3 weeks after 10 years & 4 weeks after 20 years.

• Retirement: 401K plan w/50% company match to 6% of payroll; employees eligible to contribute immediately upon hire; match begins after 1 year, employer's match vested after 3 years.

• 2% bonus, based on gross earned wages; paid twice yearly for obtaining Key Performance Indicators.
• Reimbursement options for FAST Application and Passports, and for HazMat Background checks.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL with doubles/triples and HazMat Endorsements (must have endorsements within 120 days of hire).
• 1 year of driving experience in similar equipment.
• 23 Years of age or older.
• Proof of good health with NO LIMITATIONS on jobs related to pushing, pulling and lifting requirements.
• Successful completion of pre-employement drug screen and hearing test.
• Verifiable references.
• No convictions or serious violations in the past three (3) years to include DUI, speeding over 15 mph, following too close, erratic lane changes, or reckless/careless driving.
• No violations in the last three (3) years to include multiple license suspension or more than 3 moving violations.
• No record of more than 2 preventable accidents/incidents in the past 3 years.
• Able to handle a semi-tractor and trailer(s) with safety and efficiency as demonstrated by road test(s).
• Other qualifications as described in section 391.11 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• A functional telephone or cell phone at residence.
• Continued insurability with our insurance provider.
• Clean and neat appearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• LCV Certificat issued by a previous employer
• Ability to travel in and out of Canada
• 25 years of age or older

Opportunities for Applicants with less than 1 year of experience:

• Occasionally, Haney Truck Line will hire applicants with limited experience for specific training opportunities. All trainee applicants must be at least 23 years of age, have graduated from a recognized trucking school, and show interest and commitment to the trucking industry.
