I had all the lettering and gold striping hand painted
It takes a beating and not sure I’d ever do it again
Touch ups didn’t look as good as when it was first done
The black and gold truck was hand done
The orange one came in black. All the color is vinyl

I’d try contacting some hot Rod shops and see who they use for pin striping

The picture of a 30 something year old picture doesn’t do the work justice. It looked good in person and now looking back at the picture, if I had the the money at the time I should have done the carriers letters and numbers as well.

This is freehand pinstriping on the truck I'am running
This is JOM.. there's something about freehand pinstriping that has the look of class. In comparison to vinyl.. but I'am pretty old school
It's become a lost art as stated earlier .. but the artists that have the gift to do it have better materials & technology then what was available 30 .40 .50 years ago
Me personally I can't tell you the hours I have envolved in wet sanding my truck right now but it's a hellva lot..in hopes of salvaging the paint on my truck
When it's done it's going to the the man that @motocross25 posted about and I'll gladly pony up the extra coin to make it look error appropriate
The the best way I know to preserve the work is make sure the work is protected with a good coat of wax .. and maintain the protection .. so yes there is some maintenance involved
But vinyl fades over time and tears and peels also..Last edited by a moderator: Jul 24, 2022
