Hacked DAT accounts! Broker scam alert!

Of course anyone can tell, it is work of a hacker, no way should anyone expect more than 30¢ a mile from TQL.

 

It’s been a widespread problem lately. I’ve gotten update from dat that they will no longer allow postings with emails in the comments section, they always seem to be “military loads” requiring identification

 

When I logged in today to DAT it had warnings and some changes they are doing now because of these issues.

 

I got an e-mail from 2 brokers today saying they got hacked and people are posting loads under their name. Both were pretty big brokers and one handled the high dollar fresh beef loads.

Maybe it's me but DAT sure has seem to be caught flat footed with all these issues. They seem to be part of the problem and not the solution. Essentially they have no consequences when #### hits the fan. Costing some of your biggest costumers money is not a good long-term business plan.

 

I was talking to a broker late yesterday afternoon and she said it was a terrible day thanks to a military load and a missing driver. She didn't go into details which makes me think they got doubled brokered. I do not haul military loads and know nothing about it, but can you broker military loads? Or just the ones not requiring security clearance be brokered? I'm sure there has to be some type of screening and you can't just post any military load on the load board?

All of this made me think of what would happen if we had a national security incident thanks to double brokering. It sure would be one way to get the load boards and government officials attention to finally address the issue.

 

People who get scammed in this business are either stupid or are asking for it. Who thinks for one second that TQL or any other big brokerage firm will have a Gmail account, Really? Also if the average for a lane is 2.40 a mile with some Indian voice or Russian voice promising 4.5 a mile and you take it you deserve everything that you have to deal with.
