So I am looking at Gypsum Express, regional- dry van out of Baldwinsville, NY. Recruiter says $1000-1300/wk is the average income, home on weekends. Any one have experience or knowledge on GypEx? Salaries, benefits, truck quality, etc... I've been playing with the idea of TMC but am under the assumption that the pay would be comparable to GypEx.

    GettingRolling Thanks this.

    All things being equal....
TMC - Clean, Black, Chromed Petes, Tarps and chains
Gypsum - Red, lightweight Freightliners, Home time if important

    CNYTrucker Thanks this.

I’m also curious about Gypsum, as I live in Lysander. Would be a quick commute to work.

Look in to EW Wylie, not as many hoops to jump through and great miles

Very lengthy interview process. Didn't end up going with then but got to the point of interviewing with a regional director. Then last step I believe is a vice president approval?

The training was too long for me, 6 weeks. I'm a fairly new driver.

    Best of luck.

Yes. It's regional so home every weekend for the reset. If you have experience it may be less. I had no regional or OTR experience at the time. Only local. So it would have been 6 weeks with a trainer.

    1st week
3 day orientation 2 day with trainer
2nd and 3rd week in cab with trainer
4th and 5th in your own truck with trainer shadowing then you are on your own

It seems like a long time but it goes fast

Pretty great office staff my dm is pretty great very relaxed atmosphere. I didn't go in expecting a lot and I am pretty happy with 1800-2200 miles a week. I also sometimes get 3 day week ends. All depends on where and when you are available. Only worked 3 days this week and got almost 1900 miles in this week.
