Jjs is one of the few last good truck stops left in this world. No frills. A big ol parking lot and a restaurant that serves good food for a fair price.

I guess the last of bobber truck stops was torn down - Booneville Mo,

    Quote:

The last remaining structure that once was called the Bobber Truck Stop was taken down Wednesday morning. This closes a chapter in Interstate 70 history that began right after the birth of the interstate.

The last remaining structure that once was called the Bobber Truck Stop was taken down Wednesday morning. This closes a chapter in Interstate 70 history that began right after the birth of the interstate.

On Labor Day, 2011, the Bobber closed its doors for the last time after half a century of business and being a landmark in the Boonville area and a favorite place to many interstate travelers.

Originally known as The Windmill, it used to be the only truck stop between Columbia and Kansas City.

Once more buildup of the interstate occurred the Bobber steadily lost business, especially the last several years of its existence, which prompted its closure.

The main structure was torn down in early 2012 after an auction was held in early January to sell off all merchandise and items of the former cafe.

On Wednesday, the last remaining building was torn down that was part of the original layout. Plans are underway to develop the property

    end quote:

i guess there was another in Effingham IL and maybe Sullivan Mo

how many were there? never seen nor stopped at a bobber that I recall

some oldies still exist, the age shows here, due to it's valued location, currently, 50 gals of fuel will get yah a permit to park or a $10.00 parking fee.

Apparently I need to get out more.

The ones I recognize are few and far between.
