Well I made a BIG mistake the other day, while I was driving in my town,I didnt reallize it was a school zone and got stop and got a ticket doing 35mph in 20mph school zone:biggrin_2552:.What makes it bad I pass this same road all the time but not during school hours. So any way I got a $391.00 ticket which im going to pay and 4 points on my licience.Since I hold a CDL-A licience and the state of Florida does not allow CDL licience drivers take a driving course to remove the points. So my question is am I going have a hard time with trucking companies I appy for??? Or will they just let it go.I never gotten a ticket in my life, first time ever and it comes during a bad time.

Well...let me see. 4 points? Most companies will let you in at 6 in good times, maybe.

35 in a 20 or 75% over the posted speed limit. Most insurance companies ask for your first born, and your mothers left arm after that "reckless endangerment" charge hits your CDL.

They'll dictate whether you get a job or not.

I would try and get it reduced, even if it means hiring a attorney. The money spent might be worth it.

It might not be a deal killer, but it sure isn't going to help you. In this economy, carriers can be very very picky and still put a butt behind the wheel.

I always slow down to 20mph during a school zone, but what got me was the school zone flashing lights you know the lights that flashing when it 20mph,anyway,it wasnt flashing until I got about 50 feet from it and the reguler speed limit is 45mph.So I told the cop this but he still give the ticket.I did slow down but it was to late.

Im not going go thru that, ill give pay the ticket.I will be moving to a new state in a few months so when I get my licience in that state, the points will not carry over.Im still looking for work here in florida and til I moved out of Florida,I will still hold my Florida driver's licience which has the points on it.

I hate to be the one to break it to you. But you're the newest prize winner of a Class A CDL.

That ticket will follow you to hell...if you decide to move there.

Unlike a regular license. You're in a national database now.

Unfortunately, it does not work that way with a CDL. I believe by federal law, You have to disclose other states you have had your licenses. The federal data base will catch it. :biggrin_25525:

As a CDL Holder, you have to learn to take ALL Of your tickets to court.
