anyone who’s been or currently employed at GFS know what the hiring process is like for their cdl delivery position?
I’ve sent in my application 6 days ago and I haven’t gotten a call or email but the listing is still up and my application status is still “under-consideration” I’ve even sent in another application 2 days ago for a location further away since I really would like to work for them. Wondering if it’s a waiting process on them or what.
i’m 23 y/o, feel like i’m the perfect candidate considering my previous experiences in food service and some otr to at least get a call back! lol
also wouldn’t mind knowing what other similar companies hiring processes are like since I want to start working asap!

Back in 2021 we ask for your location, but you didn't post it.

Albertaflatbed Thanks this. -
Some co's will start the hiring process upon receipt of the application, but won't say boo to the applicant. Next thing you know, you get a phone call telling you to report to orientation pronto. Or others will correspond with you during the "background check". Just quietly check in with them, phone or e/mail every few days.

At my most recent gig--my employer waited 3 MONTHS to give me their first call.
In the meantime, I just played it cool, waited...& left them alone.
Why?
It was (& still is) a driver's market. Also--I just had other fish to fry, as they say...

I would call them, never wait

I dont know but I am sure there is a position that will be open soon in the Carolinas. Past a Gordons truck Monday night where the driver decided to take the scenic route to the back side of an advertisement sign off the side of the highway. Luckily it was just them and most of the damage done was what ever the truck took and new drainage ditches unintentionally carved back to the main one running parallel to the highway.

I do still work at Gordons at least for now but that is changing. So when I hired on in 2015 it was a different market. I filled out my application, all that stuff it was the second time I applied to work there. Anyhow after maybe a few days I got a call from the company that screens the candidates and they asked me a few questions and a week later I guess I went to the office where I was going to be working out of and talked to the manager we had a nice talk and he offered me a job, a week later I signed and accepted the job offer I guess I must have had a drug test in there somewhere, but I don't remember it's been a few years now. I had a good run at the company I don't know about the Carolinas to much, not the part of the company I work in, but that's how it was for me.

I’ve actually got a foot out the door as it I probably won’t be at Gordon’s much longer so I’m not a good resource.
