Usually GFS likes you to have you're license. It depends on the division you're in. Kentucky is Sheppardsville warehouse, I know the GFS division I work in they got away from training drivers with permits. They do hire out of school although that's hit or miss sometimes. They didn't hire me right out of school, however I was pretty rough when I first started there and needed a lot of polishing up. What I would do if I was you if you can is apply for take a long van or warehouse they do train real good warehouse loaders who've proven them selves to get there CDL, well I should say they have been known to train real good warehouse guys to become drivers.
The only thing about company sponsored CDL training especially at like a food company or LTL, is sometimes there not always in a big fat rush to get you trained. Sure they need you, but that doesn't mean there in a big hurry to train you they can promise you training, but they aren't going to train you on you're time table.Bob Dobalina Thanks this.
