GFS is a pretty big canadian owned food distributor. Just like every food service company driver turn around is huge. Some guys are cut out for it some aren't. If you dont mind long days (or nights) and pretty intensive physical work, by all means apply. Pay starts at high teens or low twenties. Also from what i hear they also pay piece work, meaning shorter days but same pay if you hustle. I did four years of that food stuff, only fun for a while lol

When you see a company advertising constantly, your first thought is what's the matter with the company. You make a good point, food service is a whole different situation, it's the work rather than the company usually. Behind a restaurant or hotel at 4 or 5am, in the cold and dark running up and down a skinny ramp with a wheeler. Stacking heavy boxes on shelves in a freezer by yourself, and then race to the next one, 'cause everybody NEEDS their stuff before breakfast.

Gordon could get drivers but they choose not to pay a competative wage for the type of work the driver is performing.

Flatbed drivers are making the same if not more money than Gordon drivers. If you like physical work go run a flatbed.

    Avoid Gordon if you can.

I talked to a driver there a few weeks back because I plan on applying later down the road. He liked it but has only been there 6 months, he said most shifts are 8-10 hours long and you either start around 5pm or early in the morning. He told me depending on the size of his load he would make anywhere from $200-$300 a day.
