Hey all, long time no post here.....

Getting back on the road Monday, wondering what ya'll like for a good seat. I'm in a 2006 Peterbilt 379 short hood with a set of transfer dumps. The stock seat will do for a while but I would like to invest in something a little nicer. Price is key, not looking for a $1000 Wide Ride, although that would be quite comfy.

    Do ya'll have any preferences?

    Thanks

He said Peterbilt....a 5 gallon bucket is probably too tall for that "low rider" look. A milk crate would probably work better.:yes2557:

Plastic chair from the depot is the ticket, just bolt it to the air ride base.

So, I guess the $6000 Bose is out of the question then? ;)

My last truck was an 05 379 with the stock Peterbilt/National seat. I was never once uncomfortable for even a minute with it. Seats came a l-o-o-o-n-g way since the 70's!

My quess since he owns it, he nows best the factory seat is no longer works for him. He, like me may be bigger man? Most seats are not made heavy enough. Toke some time but found one rated for 450 lb. Knew I would not tear it up. Yes I have had a bostrom fail. Riding down road and slowly started leaning right, next thing I know I sitting behind the shifter!

I'm not too overweight, 6'0 220 lbs....I just like the seats with arm rests, taller backs, and maybe sit a couple inches lower. Looking at costs right now it's probably going on the back burner..

You beat me to it. This is exactly what I was thinking. Every Peterbilt driver and Peterbilt wannabe driver I know seems to like to drive with air seat completely deflated riding on the frame. Might as well save the cash and just put a milk crate in it at that point for all the comfort you're gonna get from it.
