I am looking to switch into a truck driving career, but I'm on the fence about what company I can get my training at and get a good job placement or at least decent place at the same time. Any help is much appreciated.

Check out Carter Express in Anderson, Indiana just north of Indy. I'm not sure if you have to get your CDL first but they have a training program. Looks like there regionall drivers have a $1700 per week guarantee plus off weekends on the website.

FYI I have never worked for Carter but I do know they haul dedicated for car manufacturers.

I will look into it now. I mainly ask because I had seen Halvor lines one day and looked into it and it was tons of bad reviews on multi sites

I don't know what the deal is with Halvor Lines. Lots of bad reviews. You'll do well if you choose KLLM.

You are in a good location for just about anything.

Roehl has a terminal/school in Gary, and I think they even pay during training. You won't make a fortune there but it's a good place to start.

Schneider has a Gary terminal, along with CRE. CRE trains from there, if you want to go that route.

Have you checked out the school in South Bend?

Schneider may not be exactly great anymore, but...CRE is just asking for him to leave the industry in three to six months.

CRE is giving free hats to new-hires, men & women, during orientation.
