I always hear about guys making 100k+ driving local, but can't seem to find any of the job listings on any sites.
Anyone know of high paying companies and/or union gigs in nj/nyc area? I'm tired of these ads that say "up to 85k a year" and it's all lies. It seems like anyone that makes good money, only does so till they get their miles/contracts/hours cut.
Ps. I dont care if it tanker, hauling garbage, or whatever.
Good NJ/NYC Local Driving Jobs?

The 100k + jobs are normally Union gigs, and Jersey has a ton of them.
Obviously UPS is one of them, both Parcel and Freight. USPS is anouther. LTL Linehaul for UPSF, ODFL and Estes is anouther. Fed Ex Freight in Newark is Union, so they maybe anouther. ShopRite/Wakefern is big in Jersey and they make over 100k. Grocery Haulers is based out of Jersey and depending on if you're hauling for Bimbo Bakeries or Baker's Express is another high paying job. Frito Lay you can over $100K. Foodservice like McLane, Sysco and Domino's is anouther. Waste Management I heard is hard to get into in Jersey, but anouther high paying job.
If you wanna go the Non CDL route, UPS Package Delivery Drivers, Bimbo Bakeries Bread Truck RSR and USPS Mailman are high paying jobs as well.
Good luck.77fib77, Tanker312 and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -

Seasonal Drivers I think get paid around $32 an hour, but you get no benefits and you'll still have to pay Union dues. Once Peak Season is over, they MAY or MAY NOT keep a couple drivers for either Casual or Full-time. If you do get hired after the holidays, you'll drop down to the beginning payrate which is around $18.75 I believe, and you'll have to wait after your fourth year to reach top rate, which currently is around $36, but they'll be renegotiating they're new Union contract in 2018, so top rate will be a lot higher by then.Tanker312 Thanks this. -
You drive seasonal and they cut most before the end of the year some work a week into the new year.
Then perms are hired in March. Your on the extra board. So, you might only get two days a week. -
