I run the KT AOBRD app. I need to calculate my miles per state. I had a couple of free websites saved, but now they don't work (trulos was one of them).

I found one called mile.com, but IMO looks sketchy like they're going to spam the hell out of me once I give them my info.

    Any recommendations?

    Google Maps?

I just tap the voice recorder app on my phone when crossing a State line and record State from and into, the date & mileage.

    Pretty easy...

When I stop later or am at the house I just refer back to the voice recorder and enter the info into my monthly spreadsheet.

In case someone runs into the same issue: I'm using google maps and entering a generic address past the border, then dragging the pin to the border to get a distance.

I wake up write down the mileage. Go back to sleep until the next state line.

When I finish the trip I throw down the sheet with states onto a second trip sheet so it's not lost.

With today's GPS etc and Google Maps with distance finder, none of this should be necessary.

Wait - doesn't KT log your state miles for you?

Dieselboss- not with the AOBRD version. Do you know someone who does?

Well, if you are already with KT and you like it, then go to their $30/month plan (with IFTA) and you'll get the state miles. I would imagine that still gets you the state miles even if you are still in AOBRD mode with them, but not positive. Personally I feel that any driver that needs to worry about IFTA and IRP miles (which is 99% of them) should use an automated mileage method because it's "fire-and-forget." I know some drivers write down or use a voice recorder at borders and stuff. I understand that. If you have a method that works for you, then go for it. Drivers who are ELD exempt will likely find a non-electronic method.
And to answer your question, just about every AOBRD/ELD company has state miles recording either standard or as an option.

My ELD keeps track of all of it. When I had a different product, an AOBRD, it tracked it as well. Have you called your provider to make sure it’s not hidden away in an obscure menu somewhere?

Ok, let me clear things up a bit. My AOBRD is an app on my phone. So I guess it's not a real AOBRD. Maybe they have one still that doesn't connect to the truck.

Oh - this is a huge detail. You do not have an AOBRD if it is not connected to your truck's ECM. You have the KT logbook app. So the easiest way to automate the state miles is to also install a "state miles logging app." Google that phrase and you will find many. Also many are free, other than selling your personal info or in-app advertising (because that is what "free" means in apps)
