I am sure a lot of you have been to one of these places. We took beef trimmings there, they are a McDonalds processing facility. Just in case someone doesn't know, regardless of your delivery time, they are a first come first serve site. We had a 400 am delivery time, there were 4 trucks ahead of us. We left there at midnight the next day. Wow. I don't know that much about them or how they work but it almost seems like they are making stuff as they take it off your truck? It was a long day, and TransAm didn't pay detention pay:biggrin_2553:

If this facility is anything like the one in Los Angeles, CA. I believe you. The LA lot was very small and no where to park in the lot or street. I got there a hour ahead of scheduled pickup. I was turned away and told to come back in a hour. I finally found a street to park on to wait for a lousy half hour to sit and return. Then to top it off, I had to wait two hours before I got loaded. I was not a happy camper :biggrin_2552:

Yes I have been there. I arrived early and took their freight to my yard after five hours. I always have a back up plan in my pocket and was going to use it this day if I had too. I know that not all drivers can just quit and go somewhere else but some of us can and the customers will continue ruining the drivers day until more drivers start ruining theirs. Most companies will can you in a heartbeat for not bowing to a customer but is that really how you want to live your life ?

and they actually wonder why truck drivers are 'ahem' unpleasant at times....

I'm not going to change the world but I am going to earn a livable wage by weeks end.

The Conyers location is strange. One time i can go in an hr ahead of time and they put me on a dock. The next time i will arrive an hr early, no other trucks around, docks are mty, yet they tell me to park it off to the side.

The L.A. location, would this be the Ciyt of Industry location off CA.60
Even though it's posted on the street out side, no parking, i have done so many times, never had a problem. Not to say don't go park there over night, then yes the police might get testy. But an hr or two ahead of appoinment, shouldn't be a problem. Iv'e seen trucks lined up there a few times.
As for spending much time there, never been there longer than 90 min. They always seems glad to see me, and what i have in the trailer. Even a couple of time they have asked my co. if there is any way i can get there sooner..

They know how much fat is on the meat that you bring in and regardless of when you arrive if the fat content isn't the one they need then you store and run your reefer and they waste your time til they do need what you have. The parking their sucks so bad I hope I never go back there!!!

Did you know, MCD's uses spleens, leg trimming and back fat for hamburger. Afterall, it's hamburger, not ground beef. If they say they use Angus, it has to be 51% black and a lot of Holstein's aRE 51% BLACK.

Yep, been there-done that. Using one dock at a time for 10 trucks, is a long process.
