Can anyone tell me how to use one of the gladhand air hoses you can buy at the truck stops for filling tires? How exactly do I hook it up?

is this your own truck or company. even if I was in a company truck I would put an air fitting on the tanks a female end that is. than an air line with a male a female end so I can use a blow gun air chuck or other tools....

Bates makes a kit for that. Don't remember what it costs. Works well tho.
Willpower Thanks this. -
it's a simple fitting you can buy at any parts store.
but the air hose to the glad hand works just fine. the brakes will be set on the trailer cuz the air is released.
just make sure to raise the idle up so the compressor can keep up. otherwise you'll be there all day trying to get 100 pounds into the tanks and down to the tires.Willpower Thanks this. -
I like mine a lot. Once I had a small hole in my tire that leaked out when I shutdown for the night. I was able to fill the tire with air right there on the spot and shutdown at a TA to have it worked on during my 10 hour break. I didn't lose any time or money. Not sure why you have to ask how to hook it up, isn't it obvious?

on a brighter note... A big thanks to you all for answering such a dumb question!

I put a quick release end on mine like you would on your garage compressor.. Can use it to fill tires, or blow out the cab.. But I wouldn't use it for air tools without a regulator just to be safe, and then only for short times.
They're a handy thing to have, and even though I run a shuttle 2 miles each way, it's always in the trunk of my car just in case.Willpower Thanks this. -

yea truck pressure is a total of what 120 psi if set right....air tools run normally at 100 psi to 120 psi...heck my 1/4 drive air rachet runs at 120 as well as my 1/2 drive...now a shop com runs at 150 to 250 psi yea than you need a regulator
